2 found dead at scene of house explosion, fire in Pennsylvania
Two individuals were discovered deceased following a house explosion and fire in Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning, according to authorities.
The explosion occurred in Crescent Township, just outside Pittsburgh, reported at 8:54 a.m.
The home was entirely leveled by the blast, with the fire spreading throughout the house's foundation and along the hillside.
"We all felt and heard the explosion," stated Allegheny County Division Fire Chief Andrew Tomer at a news conference. "You could feel it in your chest." Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Eyewitness John Bundy, who works nearby, recounted feeling the impact of the explosion and witnessing a mushroom cloud.
He and others rushed to the scene, where they encountered a chaotic and devastating sight.
Despite the destruction, bystanders displayed remarkable bravery, with one individual running into the flames in search of survivors.
The aftermath of the explosion left a scene of complete devastation, with at least two other homes sustaining damage.
Authorities noted the presence of natural gas and propane on the premises from private wells, adding complexity to the investigation.
