A twin-engine IAI Astra 1125 crashed into a wooded area near Ingalls Field Airport in Hot Springs, Virginia, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, as reported by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Tragically, all five individuals on board, including a juvenile, perished in the fiery crash.
Virginia State Police spokesperson Corinne Geller stated that the deceased included four adults and the pilot, confirming the grim outcome at the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
Described as a "small, private jet" by state police, authorities are collaborating to confirm the flight path and identities of those involved.
The crash site, near Virginia's border with West Virginia, lies approximately 160 miles northwest of Richmond.
