Bandits Kill Village Head, 20 Others In Niger

Daredevil gunmen suspected to be bandits launched a deadly attack in Madaka, resulting in the tragic deaths of the Village Head and 20 others.

Madaka, situated in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, has frequently faced threats from banditry due to its rich deposits of gold, talc, and other minerals.

The assailants struck on Thursday evening during the bustling community market hours, extending their violence late into the night.

Reports indicate that numerous individuals were abducted, and the terrorists set fire to 50 houses, as well as an undisclosed number of vehicles and motorcycles.

While the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, is yet to comment on the attack, the District Head of Madaka, Alhaji Isah Bawale, has confirmed the tragic incident.
