On Tuesday, the tranquility of Bishop Okoye Street in Mile 3, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was shattered when four armed robbers collided with traders who had set up their stalls for the day's business. The chaos ensued as the suspects, fleeing in a Sienna car, recklessly navigated through the bustling street, sending residents into a frenzy.

Amidst the commotion, law enforcement officers pursued the suspected robbers, intensifying the pandemonium as terrified residents sought refuge from the unfolding mayhem. However, the swift action of the police led to the apprehension of three of the culprits, while efforts are underway to capture the remaining fugitive.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the arrests, stating that operatives from the Olu Obasanjo Division, in collaboration with the Nkpolu Police Division, successfully nabbed the suspects. She assured that investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of their criminal activities.

Meanwhile, the unfortunate incident left a trail of destruction in its wake, with traders bearing the brunt of the chaos. Rachel, one of the affected traders, recounted the harrowing experience of witnessing armed assailants speeding through the market area. The armed robbers' rampage not only instilled fear but also resulted in damage to goods such as periwinkle, melon, and okasi, leaving the traders grappling with losses.

As the affected traders count their losses and seek redress, they call upon the government to intervene and provide assistance in recovering from the ordeal. Despite the hardships endured, there is a sense of relief that the perpetrators have been apprehended, offering a semblance of closure to the traumatic events that transpired.
