Nigerian solo traveler, Pelumi Nubi, survives ghastly car accident

A 28-year-old travel content creator, Pelumi Nubi, who undertook a solo road trip from London to Lagos, survived a crash on Tuesday.

Nubi shared the news on her verified Instagram page, posting a video of her now-wrecked vehicle showing severe damage to the front and a shattered windshield. In the caption, she wrote, “Say a prayer for me.”

The multicountry travel showcases Nubi's determination to challenge the notion of "impossible" and prove the power of grit and determination. She outlined her route, starting from England and passing through France, Spain, Morocco, West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Togo, Benin, and finally reaching Lagos, Nigeria.

Nubi clarified that her journey wasn't motivated by breaking records, even though no black woman had undertaken such an extensive journey before.

As of now, details about the accident’s location, cause, and the extent of her injuries remain unclear. Nubi began her journey on January 31, 2024, encountering various challenges along the way.
