One Student Feared Dead After Cult Clashes In Abia State University

The Abia State Government confirmed the death of an Abia State University student during a recent cult clash.


Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu, stated that remedial actions have been taken to restore calm, with security agencies dispatched to the university.


Kanu urged students to prioritize their studies and avoid violence.


Tensions escalated following the clash between rival cult groups, resulting in the death of a 400-level History and International Relations student.


Eyewitnesses reported the attack within the university area, heightening anxiety on campus.


Efforts to obtain comments from school authorities were hindered by poor network connectivity.


Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwumelie, affirmed awareness of the incident and assured ongoing police investigations.
