Parents of Missouri teen left convulsing after shocking school beatdown break their silence: ‘Remain hopeful’

A 15-year-old Missouri girl is currently in critical condition, battling severe brain damage after a brutal assault near her St. Louis high school. Kaylee Gain suffered a skull fracture and frontal lobe damage during the attack, where her head was repeatedly slammed into the ground. She was left alone on the ground until EMTs arrived.

Her family reports that she is fighting to stay alive, but the full extent of her injuries won't be known until she wakes up.


The altercation occurred last Friday afternoon, sparking outrage after videos circulated on social media, depicting another girl assaulting Kaylee. The assailant punched Kaylee several times before viciously slamming her head into the concrete. As Kaylee lay on the ground, groups of teens continued to fight nearby.

Police found Kaylee with a serious head injury near the school campus and rushed her to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The incident has devastated her family, who are by her side day and night, hoping for her recovery.


A 15-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with assault in connection with the attack. Attorney General Andrew Bailey has called for the assailant to be tried as an adult, condemning the act as evil and emphasizing the need for justice.


The Hazelwood School District, where the incident occurred, released a statement denouncing violence and offering condolences to those affected. The district has faced recent criticism for disenrolling several students over residency issues.
