Police Arrest Driver With Arms In Edo

Operatives from the Edo State Police Command have apprehended Ambrose Christopher, aged 24, for the unlawful possession of arms and ammunition.

Christopher was detained by the police in Ekpoma after being flagged down while driving a Mercedes Benz GLK. This action was prompted by credible information provided by the public.

SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson for the command, stated that the arrest was conducted by the anti-kidnapping and cybercrime unit in Edo Central, under the leadership of ASP Edobor Friday, based on a tip-off. The interception took place along the Ewu-Ekpoma-Auchi Road, where Christopher was driving a Mercedes GLK with registration number SMK 583 HY.

During a thorough search of the vehicle, the police discovered a beret pistol along with 13 rounds of live ammunition. Christopher is currently assisting the police with their investigation, and arrangements are being made to bring him before the court for legal proceedings.
