Kenya Butler, 28, from Union City, Georgia, reportedly instructed her daughter to take an abandoned purse at a Georgia restaurant, leading to her facing two misdemeanor charges.
Detective Taylor Dalton of the Newnan Police Department confirmed Butler's identity as the offender and charged her with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and theft by taking.
Surveillance footage shows Butler subtly guiding her daughter to pick up the purse while leaving the restaurant with her children. The group also left without paying a $500 bill.
Butler, a mother of three, was arrested on March 13, posted a $2,300 bond, and awaits her court appearances.
This incident echoes recent cases involving child thieves, such as the 'little rascals' trio arrested for robbing a Houston bank and a toddler caught stealing a package from an Ohio porch.
