A recent graduate of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, met a tragic end shortly after completing her clearance in preparation for NYSC.
Miss Ezekiel Mary Ogechi, a promising graduate from the department of accounting with a first-class distinction, tragically lost her life on Tuesday, March 5. As she left the institution after fulfilling her academic clearance, she joyfully anticipated her upcoming mobilization for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. However, her happiness was short-lived.

Reports suggest that moments after bidding farewell to her peers and expressing her excitement for the future, she was struck by a tricycle while attempting to cross the road. Before she could recover from the initial collision, she was then fatally injured by a fast-moving truck.

Raised by her hardworking mother, Ogechi had earned a scholarship from an organization to pursue a post-graduate course before this untimely tragedy struck.

In response to her death, enraged students from Abia State Polytechnic took to the streets, surrounding the tanker responsible for her demise.

While graphic images from the scene depict a heartbreaking sight of Ogechi lying in a pool of blood, adorned in the same attire she wore just moments before her life was cut short.
Mary's final Facebook post, shared on Monday, March 4, merely a day prior to her passing, innocently announced her upcoming birthday celebrations.
Her friends and colleagues have taken to social media platforms to mourn her loss and honor her memory.
