14-Year-Old Predicts Her Future Husband on a Video— Years Later They Got Married (Video)

When Ava Yuergens was just 14 years old, she confidently predicted her future with her high school classmate Ben Otto. In a video recorded on December 8, 2019, during their freshman year, Yuergens declared to her future self, "This is me at 14 years old on Dec. 8 on a Sunday in 2019, and I'm telling you — I'm a freshman by the way — and I'm telling you right now you're getting married to Ben Otto. Benjamin William Otto! And we're gonna play this at my wedding, and I'm gonna be like haha gotty."

Five years later, that moment became reality. Yuergens and Otto were married on August 17, 2024, and the now-viral clip was played at their wedding, just as she had promised. The video, originally posted on October 30, 2024, has since garnered more than 40 million views and 7 million likes online. “I love you Ben ;) And I have known that for a long time,” Yuergens wrote in the caption of the post.

Yuergens and Otto, both now 19 years old and born just 12 days apart, began dating when Otto transferred to their high school as "the new kid" in ninth grade. Yuergens explained that it was her mother who recorded the original video and ensured it was included in their wedding celebration.

“Everyone was super shocked but thought it was adorable!” she recalled of their guests' reactions to the clip. Reflecting on their relationship, she shared, “I knew Ben was the one when I realized he was my best friend, would actually call me out on my BS, started and grew companies together, worked out together, had the same religious beliefs, and he is hot. Who else would I marry! We have the same mission, values, and beliefs, and at the end of the day it has only ever been him, it will always only ever be Ben.”

The couple’s bond extended beyond romance. At the age of 15, they launched a real estate investing company together. Now, as young entrepreneurs, they continue to grow their business side by side.

Addressing the decision to marry young, Yuergens shared her thoughts in a video posted on February 25, stating, “Yes, getting married young has its risks, but it's also one of the most beautiful things being able to grow up with your life partner.” She added, “I can acknowledge that finding your life partner young is so rare but that's why I absolutely love being married young, because it is such a privilege.”
