22-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Killed by Landlord’s Son During Argument in Ondo State

A 22-year-old woman, Joy Tale, was allegedly killed by her landlord’s son, 41-year-old Odunayo Olomolatan, during a heated argument in Ode-Irele, located in the Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State. The tragic incident occurred on Monday and has since sparked concern among residents.


According to confirmation from the Ondo State Police Command, the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently in custody at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ode-Irele. Police spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade stated that the young woman was reportedly hacked to death during an altercation with Olomolatan.


Ayanlade further revealed that an investigation has commenced to determine the full circumstances surrounding the violent act and that the suspect is being held as part of ongoing inquiries. Authorities are working to piece together what led to the confrontation that ended in fatal violence.


In response to the incident, Olajide Akinfe, Chairman of the Irele Local Government Area, has appealed for calm in the community. He urged residents not to resort to vigilante justice or take the law into their own hands. Akinfe, who visited the local police station, assured the public that adequate steps have been taken to ensure the suspect is prosecuted and justice is served.


The case remains under active investigation as police continue gathering witness statements and evidence related to the altercation and subsequent killing.
