45-year-old man fatally shot on subway in the Bronx

Photos captured first responders administering aid to the man on the platform as the train remained halted at the station. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at St. Barnabas Hospital.


The NYPD has disclosed that the shooting occurred during the train's arrival at the station. Witnesses reported three individuals fleeing the scene, with no arrests made thus far.



The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.


In the wake of the incident, both B and D trains bypassed the station in both directions as authorities conducted their investigation. Commuters were advised to utilize Bx1 or Bx2 buses as alternatives.
