After woman was fatally shot, mother used axe handle to fight off man, suspect charged with killing 3

A tragic incident unfolded as a young mother made a desperate 911 call just before she was allegedly shot by a man now charged with killing three people over the weekend. Pennsylvania court documents on Monday revealed harrowing details of the events, including the victim's mother's attempt to fend off the suspect with an ax handle.

Andre Gordon Jr., 26, stands accused of murdering three family members and leading authorities on a cross-state chase during the weekend. He faces murder charges in Pennsylvania and additional charges of carjacking and weapons offenses in New Jersey.

Taylor Daniel, 25, had two children with Gordon and was fatally shot Saturday morning in Levittown, Penn., according to an arrest affidavit. Daniel managed to make a distress call to 911 just before the tragic incident unfolded.

"The caller was identified as Taylor, and she identified the male subject as 'Andre Gordon,'" stated the affidavit.

Police responded to the scene at 5 Edgewood Lane at 9:05 a.m. where they found Daniel with a fatal gunshot wound.

Daniel's brother John and mother Nancy were present during the incident. Nancy recounted hearing gunshots and attempting to defend herself by hitting Gordon Jr. with a wooden ax handle. However, Gordon Jr. retaliated by striking Nancy in the head with a rifle, causing injury, according to police statements.

Minutes earlier, police had arrived at 45 Viewpoint Lane at 8:52 a.m. where they discovered the bodies of Karen Gordon and another victim known as KG, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Karen Gordon, 52, was identified as the suspect's stepmother, while KG was identified as his 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon.

Surveillance footage captured by a Ring doorbell allegedly shows Gordon Jr. pointing a rifle into the residence through a broken window.

The suspect's father engaged in a confrontation with him at Viewpoint Lane before retreating into the residence and subsequently hearing what he believed to be gunshots.

Gordon Jr. fled to Trenton, New Jersey, where he was apprehended later that day.

As of Monday, he was held in New Jersey, and it remains unclear whether he has obtained legal representation.
