Alabama Christian School Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Relationship with Student

A 35-year-old teacher at North River Christian Academy has been arrested and charged following allegations of a sexual relationship with a female student, authorities confirmed Friday. Sarah Huggins Logan, a former educator at the private Christian school, faces charges of a school employee engaging in a sex act, with additional charges possible as the investigation unfolds.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office launched an inquiry after the parents of the underage victim reported discovering their daughter’s involvement with the teacher. Capt. Jack Kennedy of the sheriff’s Violent Crimes Unit stated that investigators conducted interviews and gathered evidence before arresting Logan. The exact age of the student and the timeline of the alleged relationship remain undisclosed.

North River Christian Academy, a pre-K through 12th-grade institution affiliated with Open Door Baptist Church, issued a statement acknowledging the accusations and confirming Logan’s termination. School officials emphasized their cooperation with law enforcement and expressed concern for the well-being of students, staff, and affected families.
