Recently surfaced Ring doorbell footage offers a haunting glimpse into the final moments before and after the tragic event involving a mother and her son. Derek Rosa, a 13-year-old, is depicted engaging in a seemingly ordinary conversation with his mother, Irina Garcia, 39, while she holds her newborn baby girl. In Spanish, he asks her, "Why do you always tell me, ‘Don’t run?’"

Hours later, Rosa is captured by the same surveillance camera, calmly conversing with a 911 dispatcher following his mother's brutal stabbing. He asks, "I see officers, do I leave? Do I leave my house?"

Prosecutors have presented images allegedly taken by Rosa immediately after the stabbing, including a smiling selfie with what appears to be blood on his hands.

Subsequent footage played in court shows Rosa confessing to the crime, admitting, "I woke up, I grabbed one of the kitchen knives and I went to her room… I killed her."

Despite the damning evidence, Rosa maintains his plea of not guilty. His defense seeks a trial postponement, citing the need for evidence from the state attorney’s office.

The new Ring doorbell footage emerged as Rosa’s case progresses through the courts. Prosecutors assert readiness for trial, as reported by NBC Miami.

The footage captures Rosa conversing casually with his mother before the incident, followed by his calm demeanor while speaking with a 911 dispatcher afterward. He is instructed to stay put by the dispatcher as law enforcement arrives at the scene.

Sirens and flashing lights are seen entering the apartment complex, where Garcia is discovered fatally stabbed in her bed, with her newborn daughter unharmed nearby.

The motive for the stabbing remains unclear, as Rosa’s family expresses shock over the incident, describing him as a "good kid."
