At least 11 people were hospitalized following a mass shooting Sunday night in the coastal town of Little River, South Carolina, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near a boat dock along the Intracoastal Waterway in Horry County. Horry County Police confirmed that multiple people were injured and transported to local hospitals, with reports of additional victims arriving at medical centers via private vehicles.
Officials have not released the conditions of the injured or the exact nature of their wounds. The shooting prompted a swift and heavy response, with dozens of police vehicles and ambulances seen converging on the area.

Roughly 90 minutes after the gunfire erupted, authorities labeled the incident as “isolated” and stated that there was no ongoing threat to the public. However, no details regarding suspects, arrests, or the motive behind the shooting have been released.
In a separate but related incident, a North Myrtle Beach police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg while responding to the shooting. The officer, injured at a marina approximately three miles from the original scene, was transported to a hospital where he is in stable condition.
Little River is located about 20 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach and is a popular area for boating and fishing. The investigation into the shooting remains active.
