Averett University professor David Hanbury’s heartbroken family breaks silence after he was found dead at conference

An Averett University professor has tragically passed away after being reported missing from a conference in Florida.
The university confirmed the passing of Dr. David Hanbury in a statement sent to ABC13. Hanbury was attending the Southeastern Psychological Association Conference in Orlando and was last seen on the evening of Friday, March 15.
A community is now mourning the loss of Dr. Hanbury, who was found deceased on Sunday. Orlando Police have stated that there doesn't appear to be anything suspicious about his death.
Although the cause of death has not been determined yet, the university expressed their sorrow and extended their condolences to Dr. Hanbury's family, friends, and all those who were impacted by his presence.
Dr. Hanbury had been with Averett University since August 2015, serving as an associate professor and co-chair of the psychology department. Additionally, he held the role of chair for the division of physical and psychological health sciences.
The university's statement also mentioned that they are sending their affection, prayers, and support to everyone affected by this loss.
