Bandits in mass kidnap in Kaduna, take away 87 victims in fresh attack
At least 87 individuals have reportedly been abducted by bandits in an attack on the Kajuru station community located in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The bandits not only kidnapped numerous residents but also pillaged shops and houses within the community during the assault.
This incident took place on Sunday night, following closely on the heels of another kidnapping event where 14 individuals were taken by bandits from Dogon Noma community, also in Kajuru Local Government.
While the Kaduna State Police authorities are yet to officially confirm this recent attack, Ibrahim Gajere, the Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area, verified the incident to our correspondent. He revealed that the bandits launched the invasion around 9:00 pm on Sunday night and abducted several residents, leaving many in a state of fear and panic.
The ongoing wave of attacks in Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas has heightened concerns, particularly after the abduction of 287 students from Kuriga community in Chikun.
Responding to the escalating kidnap cases, Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, visited the state government house to confer with Governor Uba Sani on Monday. During the meeting, General Musa, along with representatives from the Kuriga community, expressed assurance that the abducted students and those recently kidnapped in Kajuru would be rescued promptly.
