Bandits Invade Kaduna Pry School, Shoot Pupil, Abduct Dozens
There was chaos in Kuriga town, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as bandits raided LEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), and abducted numerous pupils. The exact count of those taken was uncertain at press time, though residents estimated around 100 children were seized. Among the victims were reported to be the head teacher and several staff members.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:20 am right after the morning assembly on Thursday. Several years ago, the junior and secondary schools relocated to the town due to security concerns, abandoning their previous site outside the town.
Eyewitnesses recounted how many pupils fled their classrooms upon spotting the armed bandits on the school premises. Witnesses also observed the abducted victims being escorted into the nearby forest.
As of the report's filing, there has been no official response from the state government. Text messages sent to Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, remained unanswered. Similarly, attempts to reach the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or text messages.
