Bandits kidnap 2 sisters in Abuja, demand N30m ransom

As the efforts to rescue the Ekiti State pupils and their teachers continue, gunmen suspected to be bandits kidnapped two teenage sisters from the Guita community in Chikakore, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This incident occurred eight days after members of Chikakore village demonstrated outside the office of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. They cited the poor condition of the main route connecting their community as one of the reasons for the area's high rate of kidnappings.

It was learned that the kidnappers returned at 11:25 p.m. on Sunday, despite the military and police presence in the vicinity.

The kidnappers, numbering six, took away the girls, aged 16 and 14, through the forests and hills in the area.

It was learned that the kidnappers have demanded a N30 million ransom to release their captives.
