A Bentley University senior has died after falling from a hotel balcony during a pre-graduation trip to the Bahamas. Gaurav Jaisingh, a finance major and fraternity member, suffered fatal injuries in what authorities have described as an accidental fall.
The tragic incident occurred Sunday on Paradise Island, where Jaisingh and fellow classmates were celebrating their final days as college students before graduation. Emergency responders were dispatched to the hotel after reports of a man falling from an upper-level balcony. He was found unresponsive on a lower floor and died en route to the hospital.

Jaisingh, a resident of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, was an active member of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity and participated in multiple student organizations on campus. His death comes just days before Bentley University’s commencement ceremony.
“This is an enormous tragedy for our community,” Bentley University stated. “We share our deepest condolences with Gaurav’s family, friends, and loved ones. While local authorities continue to investigate, it appears Gaurav accidentally fell from a balcony. We will share more details as they become available while respecting the privacy of his family.”

Fellow students expressed shock and sorrow over the loss. “It was the last thing I was expecting, especially just a few days away from graduation,” said senior Isabella Abeiga. Another student, Sydney Bazin, added, “He was gearing up for graduation this weekend. I hope we take time to honor him at the ceremony—it’s just actually heartbreaking.”
The Royal Bahamas Police Service has confirmed the investigation is ongoing but noted there is no indication of foul play at this time.
Jaisingh’s passing has cast a somber shadow over what was meant to be a time of celebration for the Bentley community. The university is expected to honor his memory during graduation events.
