Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie's French winery battle back in court
Brad Pitt has won the latest legal battle against Angelina Jolie regarding their French winery, Château Miraval.
Jolie's attempt to overturn a tentative ruling allowing Pitt's claims that she sold her stake without his consent was rejected by the court.
This decision allows Pitt's legal team to proceed with suing Jolie for breach of implied-in-fact contract and breach of quasi-contract, with the opportunity to amend the claim of breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
The ongoing dispute centers around the sale of Jolie's company, Nouvel, which included her ownership interest in Miraval. Pitt alleges that Jolie's actions breached their contractual agreement, seeking damages and the nullification of the sale.
Additionally, Pitt accused the company that purchased Jolie's stake of attempting a hostile takeover of Miraval. In response, Jolie's company accused Pitt of mismanaging Miraval and criticized his claim of building the winery into a profitable business.
While the legal battle continues, Pitt has moved on romantically and is in a serious relationship with Ines de Ramon. Jolie and Pitt have yet to finalize their divorce, while Ramon recently ended her marriage to actor Paul Wesley.
