A Brazilian beauty queen was brutally murdered and set on fire alongside her boyfriend, with a chilling twist emerging years later as the alleged killer was found bearing a tattoo of her burned face on his hand.

Bruna Zucco Segatin, 21, was found dead in 2018 alongside her boyfriend, 30-year-old Valdir de Brito Feitosa, in the back of a torched pickup truck in Altonia, Paraná. After evading capture for seven years, the unnamed suspect was arrested on June 7 in Altonia.

Police were shocked to discover a disturbing tattoo on the suspect’s left hand—depicting a woman with part of her face engulfed in flames. Authorities believe the image is a gruesome tribute to Bruna’s charred remains, which were disfigured in the fire.
Reginaldo Caetano, the investigating police chief, confirmed, “The tattoo on the suspect depicts a woman with part of her face on fire. Bruna’s body was located burned and charred in the back of a pick-up truck.”

Investigators believe Bruna was not the intended target, but was killed because she was with Valdir, who was allegedly targeted over rivalries related to drug and contraband trafficking.
The suspect is accused of being a hired gunman sent to Altonia to carry out the assassination. Police say the evidence points to Valdir as the main target, while Bruna became a tragic collateral victim.

Three additional men were also arrested during the operation. One of them is believed to be the mastermind behind the hit, and authorities suspect that significant evidence was destroyed in the fire used to cover up the crime.

Bruna, a former Miss Altonia, was known for her beauty and grace in pageant circles. Her death sent shockwaves through her community in 2018, and her family has sought justice ever since.
