Brazilian Champion Bodybuilder Stabbed to Death by Girlfriend in Brutal Apartment Attack

Brazilian bodybuilder Valter de Vargas Aita was stabbed to death following an alleged fight with his girlfriend.

Champion bodybuilder Valter de Vargas Aita, 41, was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend during a violent fight inside their apartment in Chapecó, southern Brazil, authorities confirmed.

Aita sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck, face, abdomen, and back in the early hours of Sunday. Gruesome photos released by investigators showed a trail of blood throughout the building’s corridors and stairwell, where Aita collapsed and died while trying to escape.

Neighbors reported hearing a vicious struggle before police arrived to find Aita dead at the scene. His 43-year-old girlfriend, who has not been named, was also seriously injured during the fight and transported to a local hospital. Authorities later revealed she had an outstanding arrest warrant for armed robbery and murder, carrying a 15-year prison sentence.

Aita’s gym said it would remain shut on Monday as a mark of respect

Aita was a respected figure in Brazilian bodybuilding, having competed for more than a decade. He was a former World Fitness Federation runner-up and five-time state bodybuilding champion. Outside of competitions, he worked as a personal trainer, sharing fitness tips, workout routines, and diet advice with thousands of followers on social media.

The gym where he trained and coached announced it would remain closed as a mark of respect. “Forever in our hearts,” the gym wrote in tribute.

The motive behind the fatal attack remains under investigation.
