A tragic incident unfolded as a car collided with the emergency room of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Texas, resulting in at least one fatality and numerous injuries, as per reports.

The aftermath revealed a scene of devastation, with images displaying a crumpled wheelchair amidst debris scattered across a seating area within the hospital. Austin Fire Department and Austin-Travis County EMS swiftly responded to the crisis, declaring a level four mass casualty incident involving between 20 to 49 individuals at 5:38 pm.

Eight EMS ambulances and a multitude of first responders were dispatched to the scene. Tragically, the driver was pronounced deceased by authorities, despite paramedics' attempts to revive them through CPR.

Reports indicate that the car struck four individuals, including two children who were thrown into the building, sustaining serious injuries. Law enforcement promptly intervened to manage the dire situation, with ten individuals transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Of those injured, two children with serious injuries and one adult with minor injuries were transferred to Dell Children's Medical Center. Additionally, eight patients from the hospital, who were unharmed in the crash but were receiving treatment for unrelated medical issues, were relocated to another medical facility in the vicinity.

Startling photographs depict the vehicle lodged within the hospital premises, surrounded by debris within what seems to be a waiting area or lobby. The car's front end is severely damaged, alongside a crumpled wheelchair amidst shattered glass and rubble.

In response to the tragedy, Texas Governor Greg Abbott expressed solidarity with the affected, emphasizing the state's commitment to aiding recovery efforts. Meanwhile, the Austin Fire Department urged motorists to steer clear of the area.

While the cause of the crash remains unclear, authorities have stated that it does not appear to be intentional, assuring the public of no immediate threat to safety. The Austin Police Department conveyed, "There is no threat to the general public. Based on preliminary information, this incident does not appear to be an intentional act."
