Classroom Block Collapse at Government Girls Science Technical College, Potiskum Leaves One Dead, Several Injured

A classroom block collapsed during school hours today, Thursday, at Government Girls Science Technical College, Potiskum, trapping several students under the rubble.

Eyewitnesses reported that emergency responders and school officials rushed to the scene to rescue the victims. The injured students were immediately transported to Specialists Hospital, Potiskum, where several are currently receiving treatment. One student has been confirmed dead.

In response to the tragedy, officials from the Yobe State Ministry of Education have traveled from Damaturu to Potiskum to assess the situation.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown, but authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
