Comic actor, Mr Ibu, dies at 62

After a prolonged battle with blood clotting in his leg, veteran actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, has passed away.
The actor died in a hospital in Lagos state on Saturday, March 2.
Family sources revealed that he had been on life support following a second surgery for his ailment. His blood pressure soared to over 200 after the surgery, and despite efforts to stabilize it, he sadly passed away today.
Mr Ibu had been grappling with recurring blood clotting in his leg (due to diseased blood vessels) and other health issues for years. In October 2023, he publicly appealed for financial assistance to address his condition. Although there were plans to transport him abroad for further medical treatment, his doctors deemed him unfit to travel.
During the course of his treatment, his leg was amputated in November 2023.
The actor is survived by his wife and children. He was 62 years old.
Renowned for his comedic roles in movies, the veteran actor gained widespread acclaim for his exceptional portrayal of humorous characters.
