A small plane crashed near Greenville, North Carolina, on Friday morning, resulting in the deaths of both the pilot and the passenger, according to the state's highway patrol.
The aircraft, a Beechcraft Bonanza, had only two occupants at the time of the crash. Authorities confirmed that their remains were found at the scene. Investigators are working to identify the victims, and no other injuries were reported.

The crash led to road closures near the impact site, with North Memorial Drive from Airport Road to Belvoir Road expected to remain closed until at least 7 p.m. Drivers were advised to avoid the area until further notice.
Flights from Pitt-Greenville Airport continued to operate, but officials recommended that travelers arrive early due to potential disruptions. The ill-fated flight departed from the airport at 7:46 a.m., bound for Vero Beach, Florida, but crashed moments after takeoff.

The plane went down on the property of Consolidated Pipe and Supply Company. The company confirmed that no employees were injured as a result of the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
