CAIRO, Egypt — A Colombian tourist has died after falling into a coma under mysterious and disturbing circumstances following a music festival in Cairo. Ivonne Daniela Latorre, 24, was found severely injured and unconscious days after attending the Zamna electronic music festival, where she had traveled with her friend, Colombian beauty queen Estefania Bedoy, to celebrate her birthday.
Latorre and Bedoy arrived in Egypt on April 24, excited for the festival experience. During the April 27 event, they were allegedly invited to an after-party by a woman named Jessi Morena, whom they had met during the festival. There, the two women were introduced to two unidentified men who claimed to be music producers with promises of fame.

Soon after, Latorre began sending a series of frantic and disturbing messages to her parents in Colombia, warning them that something was wrong. In one message she referred to “The Serbian” and wrote, “He's scaring me.” Another read, “They want to do something to me. They want to kidnap me.” In a final urgent plea, she begged her parents to come with police and revealed, “They don’t want to make us a band.”

While Estefania returned to their hotel room unharmed, Ivonne did not. Her family was unaware she was missing until April 30, when Bedoy contacted them with the alarming news. Latorre’s relatives immediately began calling hospitals across Cairo in search of her. Days later, they found her in a local hospital, unresponsive and in critical condition after reportedly falling from a great height. She died on May 4 without regaining consciousness.

Photos and videos posted before the incident show Latorre enjoying her vacation in Egypt, unaware of the danger to come. Her family and friends are now demanding answers, as questions mount around the mysterious circumstances of her death. Cairo police have launched an investigation and are reportedly questioning Estefania Bedoy, who has allegedly refused to fully disclose details of what happened during the night Ivonne went missing.
Authorities are also searching for Jessi Escobar, believed to be the same individual who introduced the two women to the men under investigation. The identities of the men remain unconfirmed.

Ivonne’s relative, Alexandra Marin, explained the difficulties the family faced in locating her due to language barriers and limited cooperation from those involved. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help repatriate Latorre’s body to Colombia and cover ongoing legal expenses as the family seeks justice.
