A 28-year-old Florida middle school teacher has been arrested after allegedly sending nude photos and inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old student. Oliver Fell, a teacher at Haile Middle School in Manatee County, turned herself in on Monday following an investigation into her communications with the minor.
Authorities charged Fell with lewd conduct with a student by an authority figure and transmission of harmful material to a minor. According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the inappropriate exchanges began in December when Fell started messaging the boy on Snapchat. The student reported her to school officials in March after she sent him a photo of her bare breast.

Court documents reveal that Fell sent the boy three images: one in a bathing suit, one in a brown dress, and the explicit photo. When confronted by School Resource Officer Deputy Sadrac Augustin, Fell denied sending the nude image, claiming someone was impersonating her. She stated the other two photos were from her public Instagram account. However, investigators later obtained a search warrant confirming the Snapchat account belonged to Fell.
Records indicate Fell and the student connected on Snapchat on December 10, but she removed him as a friend on March 4—the same day she learned of the investigation. Due to Snapchat’s auto-delete feature, the explicit photo was not recoverable.

The victim told police that the private conversations escalated during Christmas break, with Fell allegedly sending suggestive messages, including one that read, "I want to taste you" with a winking emoji. The boy admitted asking Fell if she had ever sent nude photos, to which she replied affirmatively before sending him one.
The student’s mother, Beverly Hernandez, expressed frustration over the school’s initial response, claiming her son was suspended while Fell remained employed. "They called him a liar and retaliated against him for speaking up," Hernandez said.

Haile Middle School Principal Irene Nikitopoulos later informed parents that Fell was reassigned away from students once law enforcement confirmed the allegations. Fell was granted a $20,000 bond on Tuesday, though it remains unclear if she has been released.
The case highlights growing concerns over teacher misconduct and student safety in schools. Authorities urge parents to monitor their children’s online interactions and report suspicious behavior immediately.
