A 29-year-old food vendor was shot in the right arm near Times Square early Wednesday morning after a confrontation with a group of young individuals escalated into gunfire, according to law enforcement sources. The shooting took place just before 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street, a typically bustling area in Midtown Manhattan.

The exact cause of the altercation remains under investigation, but witnesses reported seeing a group chasing a man moments before the shots were fired. Video footage circulating online appeared to show the group attempting to retrieve a backpack during the confrontation.
During the dispute, one of the individuals reportedly drew a firearm and fired several rounds, striking the vendor in the arm. The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify and locate the suspect or suspects involved. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and collecting eyewitness accounts to piece together the sequence of events that led to the gunfire in one of New York City’s most iconic locations.
