Ross William Wild, the former Spandau Ballet singer, allegedly raped three women and filmed himself molesting them as they slept, a court has heard. Wild, whose real name is Ross Davidson, is described as having a "darker" and "sinister" side with fantasies of having sex with women while they were asleep.
The trial for the 36-year-old Scotsman began at London's Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday, where he faces a series of sex offense charges against five women, including three counts of rape over a decade from 2013 to 2023. Wild also faces charges of voyeurism, intimidation, and controlling behavior.
Prosecutor Richard Hearnden detailed incidents, including an alleged rape in October 2013 at Wild's flat in Finchley, north London, which he filmed after an argument with the victim. Another woman reported being unaware Wild had filmed himself groping her breasts.
In May 2018, during the Cannes Film Festival, Wild allegedly fondled a sleeping woman's breasts in what was described as a "bizarre and perverted" act. He is accused of treating another woman like a "sexual slave," forcing her to have sex multiple times a night and filming a sex act without her consent.
A fifth woman alleged that she woke to find Wild having sex with her while she was asleep after meeting him on a dating site. Wild, who replaced Tony Hadley as Spandau Ballet's singer in 2018 and was dismissed 11 months later, was arrested on March 30, 2021. He denied all accusations, claiming all activities were consensual.
Wild faces three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, one count of intimidation, and one count of controlling behavior. The trial is ongoing.
