Louisiana State Police announced on Monday that a fourth inmate out of ten who escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center has been apprehended. The escape occurred early Friday morning, prompting a large-scale manhunt across New Orleans and surrounding areas.
The captured inmate, 21-year-old Gary C. Price, was located within New Orleans city limits. Price, who was being held without bond, faces charges of first-degree murder and was awaiting court proceedings at the time of his escape. Authorities confirmed that he will be transferred to a secure state correctional facility outside the area.

Six escapees remain at large as of Monday evening. Over 200 law enforcement officers have been deployed to locate the fugitives. Authorities have expressed confidence in the investigation, citing actionable intelligence on the remaining individuals. A reward of $20,000 is now being offered for information leading to the capture of each fugitive.
“We’re confident at this time that we have actual intelligence on all of those fugitives,” said Colonel Robert Hodges, superintendent of Louisiana State Police.
The inmates escaped shortly after midnight on Friday by crawling through a rectangular hole concealed behind a bathroom fixture in one of the jail cells. Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson suggested the possibility of inside help, stating that members of her department may have been involved. In response, three jail employees have been placed on unpaid leave pending further investigation.
The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office is now conducting an official investigation into the incident.
