A glamorous 25-year-old woman and her boyfriend have been caught with more than £15,000 worth of drugs after incriminating text messages about “sniff” exposed their cocaine and ecstasy supply operation.

Grace Mort and Jacob Kennedy, 20, were arrested after police raided their shared home in Barry, South Wales, and discovered over 50 grams of high-purity cocaine and nearly 40 ecstasy tablets. Investigators also seized their mobile phones, which revealed a string of messages referring to drug dealing.

In one message, Kennedy asked Mort to “bring two 0.5g deals.” In another, he complained: “I’m just someone who gives you sniff whenever you want it. You can sniff my work but not answer your phone.” The slang term “sniff” was used repeatedly to refer to cocaine.

Cardiff Crown Court heard officers also uncovered a tick list with customer names and outstanding debts. Prosecutor Abdallah Barakat said the couple sought to gain a “significant financial advantage” from drug dealing, with Kennedy directing Mort to weigh and deliver drugs.

A grip-seal bag containing cocaine of 78% purity was valued between £4,320 and £7,200, while the ecstasy tablets carried an estimated street value between £5,300 and £8,700.

Both Mort and Kennedy refused to answer questions during police interviews but later admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine and MDMA, and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Mort, who has previous convictions for driving offences, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity. Kennedy, of previous good character, will be sentenced at a later date.
