A heated altercation between two groups of golfers at Two Eagles Golf Course in West Kelowna, British Columbia, turned violent on Monday, leaving one man with a broken jaw and a bloodied mouth in what has become a viral example of golf rage gone too far.

The confrontation took place approximately 240 miles east of Vancouver, where tensions flared after one group allegedly became frustrated with the pace of play of the group ahead of them. The dispute escalated when a golf ball was reportedly hit too close to the leading group, a serious breach of golf etiquette due to safety concerns.

Video footage of the incident shows the first group confronting the second about the ball being hit in their direction. “What is wrong with you?” asked a visibly upset woman from the leading group. One man from the second group responded, “I’ll tell you what’s wrong. He’s been taking four and a half hours. Way too f***ing long.”

The verbal altercation quickly turned physical when two male golfers exchanged blows. One man was knocked to the ground by a jab to the mouth, his shirt torn off in the scuffle. “Do you want to f*** around?” one yelled, while the other shouted back, “You gonna hit me? You get one shot and then see what happens.”

Despite efforts by a woman recording the incident to deescalate the situation—asking her companion to intervene and urging both sides to “take it down a notch”—the fighting continued until it was broken up.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have confirmed that all individuals involved in the altercation have been identified and that an investigation is underway. “We’ve viewed the cellphone video of the incident, and it’s nothing short of unacceptable behavior,” said Staff Sergeant Brendan Dolan. Authorities are continuing to investigate before making any further statements.

The incident has raised questions about golf course conduct and the escalating frustration among players in what is traditionally considered a peaceful sport.
