Herbalist Sentenced to 14 Years for Attempted Sexual Assault on Epileptic Child

An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sentenced herbalist Segun Shina to 14 years in prison for attempting to sexually assault a 10-year-old girl with epilepsy. Shina changed his plea to guilty under a plea bargain agreement.

Justice Rahman Oshodi emphasized the gravity of exploiting a vulnerable child, stating that the original charge carried a life sentence. The court ordered Shina’s rehabilitation upon release and mandated no contact with the survivor’s family. The offence contravened Section 262 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
