An Indiana couple faces criminal charges after allegedly engaging in sexual fondling during a children's dance recital at Lake Central High School Auditorium in St. John, prompting horrified reactions from attendees.
Carly Ann Dominski, 44, and Steven Ulman, 49, were arrested Saturday after police observed them with their hands down each other's pants during the performance. According to an arrest affidavit, staff alerted officers to the couple's "lewd acts," with witnesses reporting Dominski was fondling Ulman's genitals while his hand was inside her unbuttoned pants.

Multiple children were present as the disturbing incident unfolded, causing audience members to turn in shock. When confronted by police, the pair hastily buttoned their clothing before attempting to flee to their vehicle in the parking lot. Officers intercepted them, discovering Dominski had provided a false name before her true identity—and multiple outstanding warrants—were revealed.
A search uncovered a bottle of lubricant in Ulman's possession. Dominski's warrants included identity deception, drug paraphernalia possession, and theft. Both now face public indecency charges, a Class A misdemeanor in Indiana punishable by up to one year in jail and $5,000 fines. Dominski received an additional false reporting charge.

Court records indicate the couple, reportedly together since 2013, made their initial appearance in Lake Superior Court Monday. Ulman's hearing is scheduled for next month.
This incident follows Dominski's 2016 arrest in Illinois where police found her unconscious from suspected heroin and methamphetamine use with a toddler in her vehicle.
