The Los Angeles socialite who was responsible for a drunken hit-and-run that claimed the lives of two young brothers has now been accused of conspiring with her husband and daughter while behind bars in an attempt to secure a new trial.

Rebecca Grossman, the wife of renowned plastic surgeon Peter Grossman, was convicted on Feb. 23 of all charges related to the Sept. 29, 2020, crash that killed brothers Mark Iskander, 11, and Jacob Iskander, 8. She faces a sentence of 34 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors allege that Grossman has been making calls from jail to her husband and 19-year-old daughter, Alexis, in a desperate effort to influence witnesses, the jury, the judge, and even her former lover. Deputy District Attorneys for LA County Ryan Gould and Jamie Castro have submitted a motion containing recordings of Grossman's calls to her family members.

Authorities are concerned that Grossman may have instructed her family to locate key individuals involved in the case to persuade Judge Joseph Brandolino to grant her a new trial. Additionally, Grossman allegedly instructed Alexis to publicly release a body-camera video from a deputy, which had been sealed by Brandolino.

Grossman is also reported to have written a letter to the boys’ mother after her guilty verdict last month. Nancy and Karim Iskander, the grieving parents of the deceased boys, received the letter from Grossman on March 13 and have requested that the county prevent Grossman from contacting them.

Prosecutors said Grossman was racing her Mercedes SUV with former MLB pitcher Scott Erickson, her ex-lover.

Meanwhile, at least two jurors have reported being contacted by Paul Stuckey, a private investigator "for the family." However, Stuckey failed to properly identify which family he was representing, raising concerns about jury tampering and the unauthorized access of juror information.

Deputies are seeking measures to prevent Grossman from receiving visitors who are not part of her legal team and want her mail to be checked, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. Grossman is accused of misusing her phone privileges to engage in potentially illegal activities, including admitting to violating court protective orders regarding the disclosure of evidence online and to the media.

After being found guilty, Rebecca Grossman allegedly wrote a letter to Mark and Jacob Iskander's mother.

During her trial, prosecutors argued that Grossman, 62, was racing against her ex-MLB lover Scott Erickson, who was in another vehicle, after consuming alcohol during a lunch outing. Mark and Jacob Iskander were crossing the street in a crosswalk with their mother and younger brother when Grossman struck them and fled the scene.

The force of the impact propelled the older brother more than 250 feet. Prosecutors presented evidence from the data recorder in Grossman’s white Mercedes, showing that she was speeding at up to 81 mph and only slowed down to 73 mph, less than two seconds before colliding with the victims, which triggered her airbags.

Nancy Iskander, who was present at the tragic scene, narrowly escaped with her then-5-year-old son Zachary from suffering the same fate. Despite registering a blood alcohol level of 0.076% and having Valium in her system, Grossman maintained her innocence throughout the trial.
