Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have apprehended two individuals, Okoro, aged 45, and Patience, aged 42, in connection with a 'one chance' robbery in Lagos. The incident took place around 6:00 am on Saturday.

According to reports, the perpetrators typically disguise themselves as commercial bus drivers, luring unsuspecting passengers and then diverting them to different locations to rob them of their belongings. In Nigeria, the term "one chance" commonly refers to such robberies where criminals exploit individuals waiting for transportation.

A police source disclosed that the robbers often operate in the Olusosun, Ojota, area of the state and were apprehended following actionable intelligence from the public. The source further revealed that one victim managed to identify one of the suspects, recalling a previous incident where they were relieved of N37,000.

"Some suspected thieves loiter around the Olososun Ojota area, posing as transporters, only to deceive passengers and perpetrate theft," the source stated.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests, noting that investigations are ongoing.

"The incident has been duly reported. The suspects will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations," Hundeyin assured.

In a related development, the Lagos State Police Command has also apprehended Ndubisi George, aged 49, believed to be a key figure in one-chance robbery operations.
