A tragic UTV accident occurred at Hollerwood Off-Road Adventure Park in Stanton, Kentucky, resulting in the death of a man and injuries to a woman. Powell County Search & Rescue reported receiving calls around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, about two individuals who lost control of their UTV and fell off an 80-foot multi-pitch cliff while heading to the parking lot.

Powell County, located approximately 49 miles east of Lexington, is known for its natural landmarks, including the renowned Red River Gorge, popular for outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, camping, and rock climbing.

The female victim managed to survive the fall and contacted 911, indicating she was trapped inside the vehicle, while the male victim was ejected during the accident.

Emergency crews, along with civilian bystanders, mobilized to search the trails using UTVs. A team successfully located the woman and deployed an improvised rope system to reach her. After a complex rescue operation involving multiple rope systems, they extricated her from the vehicle and transferred her via air ambulance.

Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by Powell County Search & Rescue. No updates were provided regarding the woman's condition, and the identities of both victims have not been disclosed publicly.
