MasterChef México contestant and popular TikTok influencer Yanin Campos has died at the age of 38 after a tragic car accident in her hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico. The fatal crash occurred early Saturday morning, and she succumbed to her injuries two days later.


Campos was reportedly driving her black GMC Terrain along the Francisco R. Almada highway at approximately 6:30 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with a parked car. Images from the crash scene show her SUV severely mangled from the impact. She was transported by emergency responders to Hospital del Parque, where she remained in critical condition in the ICU before passing away on Monday night.

Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.


Her brother, Raúl Campo, confirmed her passing in a public statement: “To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos. The wake is at the Hernández Funeral Home for those who would like to say goodbye and join us.”


Campos gained nationwide recognition in 2018 after competing in MasterChef México, where she finished in sixth place. She was later invited to return for MasterChef: La Revancha in 2019. Beyond television, she built a strong following on TikTok, amassing nearly 100,000 fans who enjoyed her culinary content and personality.

Her final Instagram post, shared in April 2023, showed her smiling beside a red telephone booth in London, with Big Ben in the background. She captioned it simply: “Taking a stroll.”


Since the announcement of her death, tributes have flooded her social media pages. Fans expressed heartbreak and gratitude for her contributions to Mexican cooking culture and online entertainment.


One user wrote, “I just heard the news. So sad, so young and beautiful. We met her through MasterChef, but it hurts deeply to know a 38-year-old woman left like this. I hope God gives her family strength. Rest in peace, Yanin.”

Another commented, “Thank you for your passion in cooking and for the joy you brought on MasterChef. Fly high!”


A third added, “I can’t believe this. I’ve followed you since MasterChef. You were always genuine and said the right things. A hug to heaven. Rest in peace.”


Campos leaves behind a legacy as a talented chef, a digital creator, and a beloved personality in both traditional and social media spheres.
