Milwaukee Road Rage Incident Caught on Camera as Stick-Wielding Driver Smashes Car Windows in Traffic Brawl

A dramatic road rage incident erupted on a busy Milwaukee freeway Tuesday afternoon when a bloodied Wisconsin motorist stormed out of his vehicle and violently attacked another driver’s car with a stick in broad daylight.

The man, identified as 53-year-old Mike Chaltry, was captured on video smashing the windows of a white Nissan during a chaotic confrontation in downtown traffic. The viral footage shows Chaltry furiously thrashing the vehicle as stunned drivers watched in disbelief.

The Nissan driver, attempting to escape the assault, reversed before lunging forward—nearly pinning Chaltry between vehicles—before speeding away. Undeterred, Chaltry pursued on foot and delivered several more blows to the fleeing vehicle before the altercation ended.

Chaltry later admitted he’s now the “face of road rage” in Milwaukee but insisted the other driver provoked the attack. “I’m not the one who started it,” he said. “He was driving like an idiot.”

According to Chaltry, the incident began when the Nissan driver tried to cut him off on the highway, nearly causing a collision. He claimed the other motorist then followed him off the freeway and approached his car at a stoplight, punching him repeatedly through the window.

“He sucker punched me and broke my nose. I needed stitches,” Chaltry said, recounting how he reached for a stick and retaliated in self-defense. “He put my life in danger three times: on the highway, when he hit me in the face, and when he tried to hit me with his car. There’s no need for that.”

Milwaukee police later arrested the Nissan driver for suspected battery and issued citations for driving without insurance and vehicle registration.

Chaltry, meanwhile, may face charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. His case has been referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
