A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday as a missing mother and her son were discovered deceased, prompting authorities to investigate the case as a possible murder-suicide. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar provided details during a press conference at Tom Slick Park, where the bodies of Savannah and Kaiden Kriger were found in a nearby ditch.

The search commenced after Savannah, 32, and her 3-year-old son were reported missing. They were last seen leaving the child's daycare around 2 p.m., with Savannah intending to take him to a doctor's appointment after leaving work early. Concern heightened when Savannah's phone became unreachable, prompting family members to request a welfare check at their residence, where officials found no vehicle initially.

Upon gaining entry, authorities discovered concerning evidence, including phone pings near the park where Savannah's vehicle was later located. The subsequent search was interrupted when the bodies were discovered, along with a firearm suggesting gunshots were fired in the vicinity.

Sheriff Salazar indicated that the recovered firearm led investigators to consider the possibility of a murder-suicide, with Savannah as the likely perpetrator. He revealed that Savannah and Kaiden likely traveled on foot to the ditch where the incident occurred, potentially amid an ongoing custody dispute involving the child's father, who is cooperating with the investigation.

Despite having full custody of her son, Savannah's tragic end underscores the complexities and devastating consequences of such disputes.
