Naked Florida Man Chops Off Another Man's Hand with Machete, Tells Police: "I Tried to Kill Him"

In a shocking incident, a naked man in Miami Gardens attacked another man with a machete, severing his hand and causing severe head injuries. The suspect, 54-year-old Tyrone Arthur Rhyant, reportedly confessed to the crime, saying, “Is he dead? I tried to kill him.”

Police discovered the grievously injured victim around 4 a.m. on Monday after responding to a 911 call. A blood-covered machete was found nearby. Witnesses reported seeing Rhyant, completely naked, fleeing the scene at the time of the attack.

Authorities found Rhyant lounging on a sofa not far from the crime scene after the victim described his attacker. The police report, obtained by WPLG, noted that Rhyant’s estranged wife, who has a restraining order against him, lives nearby.

The victim was rushed to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital for treatment. Rhyant has been charged with attempted murder causing injury and violation of a domestic violence injunction. He is currently being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
