Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice found themselves in a Grammy mix-up when the Recording Academy mistakenly named them as the "Best Rap Song" winners for their collaboration, "Barbie World," at the 2024 Grammys. The error was swiftly corrected, with the actual winner being rapper Killer Mike for his work on "Scientists & Engineers," featuring André 3000, Future & Eryn Allen Kane.

The original tweet announcing the incorrect winners was quickly replaced, but fans were quick to catch the mistake and criticized the Academy for the blunder. Despite the mix-up, Nicki Minaj, who had two nominations for "Barbie World," did not secure her first Grammy win.

The collaboration between Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice was part of the "Barbie" movie soundtrack, sampling Aqua's 1997 hit "Barbie Girl." While the duo has not commented on the incident, Ice Spice expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with Minaj in a recent appearance.

On a different note, rapper Killer Mike faced an altercation with a security guard at the Grammys, resulting in his detainment and subsequent charges of misdemeanor battery. The incident occurred after Killer Mike won three awards at the star-studded ceremony.
