A North Carolina man has been charged with the murders of his mother and teenage brother just one week after his release from prison. Authorities have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Da’ron Jenkins, who faces two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the incident that occurred on Monday, March 31, in Wilson, North Carolina.
Law enforcement officers responded to a residence shortly before 5:30 p.m. and discovered the bodies of 50-year-old Dana Jenkins and her 15-year-old son, Daryn Cox. Police have confirmed that Dana Jenkins was the suspect's mother and Daryn Cox was his brother. Details surrounding the circumstances of their deaths remain unclear, and an investigation is ongoing.

Court records indicate that Da’ron Jenkins had been released from prison just a week prior to the killings. The specific crime for which he was incarcerated has not been disclosed. Family members have expressed shock over the incident. Juanilla Kornegay, Dana Jenkins' cousin, described the victim as a kind and cheerful person, stating that the news of her death was unexpected and distressing.
Da’ron Jenkins is currently being held at the Wilson County Jail without bond. It remains unclear whether he has entered a plea or secured legal representation. Authorities have been contacted for further information, but no additional comments have been provided at this time.
