A 36-year-old man is currently in critical condition after allegedly provoking another individual on a Brooklyn subway train and subsequently being shot with his own weapon, according to police reports.
The incident occurred on a northbound A train at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
According to police statements, a 32-year-old man boarded the train at the Nostrand Avenue Station. Shortly after the train departed, he was approached by the 36-year-old man, who was already on board. Witnesses described the 36-year-old as exhibiting aggressive and confrontational behavior towards the younger man.
Verbal exchanges escalated into a physical altercation, during which the 36-year-old brandished what appeared to be a knife or razor blade. Subsequently, he retrieved a firearm from his jacket.
Allegedly advancing towards the 32-year-old in a threatening manner, the 36-year-old initiated another round of physical confrontation.
In the ensuing struggle, the 32-year-old managed to seize control of the firearm and discharged it, striking the 36-year-old in the head.
