The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 52-year-old Harry Collins for impersonating a police officer while dressed in a full police uniform with a sergeant rank.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, Collins was apprehended on February 20, 2025, at about 2:10 PM during a reconnaissance patrol led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) on the Long Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Officers on duty became suspicious of Collins’s presence in the area and conducted an immediate arrest. Upon interrogation, Collins failed to provide a valid explanation for his impersonation, raising further concerns about his activities.
“The investigation is ongoing to determine his motives and any potential criminal involvement,” Odutola stated. “The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”
The Ogun State Police Command has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as police officers.
