Pastor Kills Wife With a Machete In Akwa Ibom State

A pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) allegedly killed his wife at their residence on Effiong Essang Street, Oron, over suspicions of infidelity, marking the day as a "Black Monday" in the community. According to neighbors, the couple were at loggerheads because of childlessness.
The suspect, 42-year-old Victor Okoh, was arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command after concerned neighbors raised an alarm. Police officers arrived at the scene around 5:20 a.m. and discovered the mutilated body of his wife, 38-year-old Victoria Okoh, lying outside their residence.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are devastating, with reports indicating that the victim was trapped inside the house and unable to escape. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect attacked his wife with a machete in what has been described as a shocking and brutal act.
In an attempt to evade arrest, he hid in the ceiling but was swiftly apprehended by the police. Authorities have since recovered the weapon used in the attack, and the victim’s body has been taken to the General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many in distress. Condemning the act,
Commissioner of Police Bala Mohammed Azare assured the public that justice would be served. He also urged residents to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid domestic violence.

The police further encouraged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement, as investigations are ongoing.
